Snowshoeing Pyrenees And Snow Shelter Building
Fun Snowshoeing Day Trip In The Pyrenees
Have a fabulous experience snowshoeing the Pyrenees with a certified mountain guide. Explore the majestic winter scenery of the Northeastern Pyrenees.

We will pick you up at 8:30 am centrally in Barcelona and head north. It will not take long until we spot the Pyrenees.

We will pass through a town Ribes de Freser and gear you up with the snowshoes and hiking poles

Once arriving at the Roc Blanc parking near the La Molina ski resort we will pack our backpacks and head out to enjoy the winter wonderland. Surrounded by a deep Black pine forest, we will dedicate a few moments to talk about the correct snowshoeing technique.

Depending on the current snow conditions we may drive around the area to find the best snow.

Spotting Wildlife In The Alpine Environment

There are no limitations to participating in this activity as snowshoeing is a very intuitive and safe movement. This full-day outing is for those who want to try something new.

We will track the animal footprints in the snow. You will learn about the wildlife present in the Pyrenees.

Perhaps we will be lucky to spot a Roe deer or an endemic Pyrenean chamois as we progress towards the summit.

Hands-On Experience In The Snow Shelter Building Skills

Around lunchtime, we will look for a convenient picnic spot. We will then begin to construct a snow shelter altogether and have great fun.

We will use an avalanche probe to find the deepest layer of snow.

Your time in the Pyrenees will be a real hands-on experience and you will learn about different types of snow shelters.

We will then return back to our meeting point in Barcelona (approx. 6 pm).
