Small Group Top Hiking Tour Montserrat
The Must-See & Do Things Near Barcelona

One of the highlights of visiting Barcelona is a trip to Montserrat.

The Natural Park offers countless possibilities for hiking, rock climbing, bird watching, cultural richness, and profound spirituality to mention some.

We highly recommend you save a day for a hiking experience in your travel itinerary.

We will meet at 8:30 am centrally in Barcelona and head directly to famous Montserrat. As we leave the city, you will be able to spot the distinctive Conglomerate peaks. The Montserrat mountain range is a protected natural park since 1987.

Montserrat attracts many tourists and locals as well. It is considered an emblematic mountain that holds a special value for Catalans. Montserrat is also a typical Catalan first name, often shortened to Montse by locals.

The outdoor enthusiasts come to Montserrat all year round. It offers unlimited opportunities for outdoor activities and spectacular views on every step.

Probably The Best Outdoor Experience Near Barcelona

If you decide to join our Small Group Hiking Tour Montserrat we will make sure you will experience Montserrat to the fullest.

Your guide will personalize the experience and make sure you are enjoying yourself while hiking to various breathtaking viewpoints around the mountain.

You and the rest of the group will be able to choose from a variety of hiking trails and hike as much as you like.

Along the hiking trails, your guide will point out some interesting facts. You will also smell various aromatic herbs so typical for the Mediterranean.

If we are lucky, we will spot the Alpine ibex in Montserrat or a Beared vulture gliding on the ascending hot air while searching for its prey.

We will certainly stumble across places, where the wild boards were having a feast a night before.

A Unique Blend Of Nature, Culture, And Spirituality

Montserrat’s hiking tour would not be complete without a visit to the famous Benedictine monastery.

We will enter the main nave of the Basilica and admire the art and the patron of Catalonia.

Black Madonna also called La Moreneta sits on her throne above the main altar.

The first notes about the sacred statue go back to the end of the 9th century whilst the monastery was founded by the bishop Abbat Oliba in 1022 AD.

Before heading back to Barcelona we will visit a local farmers’ market and Jonathan or Cris will let us sample delicious locally produced cheeses, fig bread, and honey.

After having spent a fantastic and active morning in Montserrat, we will head back to our meeting point in Barcelona (4 pm).
